Karla Brown

Karla Brown

Chair City Member

Karla Brown is serving her first term as Mayor of the City of   Pleasanton, preceded by serving two terms on the Pleasanton City Council. Mayor Brown currently serves on multiple regional and city committees, boards and commissions including the Alameda County Transportation Commission, Livermore Amador Valley Transportation (LAVTA), and the Alameda County Mayor’s Conference to name a few. She has worked as an Associate Broker/Real Estate Agency since 2002, and has held a Real Estate Broker’s license since 2007.  Karla was appointed to LAFCO 2021.

John Marchand

John Marchand

City Member

John Marchand was the Mayor of Livermore, elected in November, 2011. He previously served six years on the City Council, serving four terms as the Vice Mayor. John is a retired Senior Water Quality Chemist for the Alameda County Water District. He also served as a member of the Zone 7 Water Agency Board of Directors for 15 years. John joined LAFCO in 2012 as a City Member, and again in 2021 as the Alternate Public Member.  After a two-year break, John was re-elected as Mayor of Livermore in November 2022.

Michael McCorriston

Michael McCorriston was appointed Mayor of the City of Dublin, California, in June 2024, following the resignation of former Mayor Melissa Hernandez. He was first elected to the Dublin City Council in November 2020 and was appointed Vice Mayor in 2021. Mayor McCorriston has served or currently serves on many local boards and commissions: Alameda County Housing Authority , Alameda County Transportation Commission/Sunol JPA, ABAG General Assembly, Dublin San Ramon Services District Liaison Committee, East Bay Regional Park District Liaison Committee, Economic Development Committee, Federal and Military Communities Committee, I-Gate Board, Livermore City Liaison Committee, San Ramon City Liaison Committee and Tri-Valley Water Liaison Committee

Ralph Johnson

Ralph Johnson

Special District Member

Ralph Johnson served three terms as President of the Castro Valley Sanitary District Board of Directors. He also worked as an engineer for the Alameda County Flood Control District and the Zone 7 water supply program. Ralph is the current president of the Alameda County Library Foundation. He was appointed to LAFCO in 2012.

Mariellen Faria

Special District Member

Mariellen Faria is currently a Director on the Eden Health District Board serving her second term. She served 18 years in the City of Hayward government as a Human Services Commissioner and a Planning Commissioner.  Director Faria is a retired Registered Nurse. In her professional career, she served as Chief Nursing Executive at St. Rose Hospital, San Leandro Hospital, Kaiser Permanente, Hayward and Kaiser Permanente, San Leandro.  She is a member of the Hayward Chamber of Commerce and serves as treasurer for the League of Women Voters Eden Area.  She also volunteers for other community-based organizations.

Georgean Vonheeder-Leopold

Georgean Vonheeder-Leopold

Special District Member, Alternate

Georgean Vonheeder-Leopold is serving her fourth term on the Dublin San Ramon Services District Board of Directors and is currently Vice President. She is Historian for the City of Dublin and has served on Dublin’s Planning Commission and City Council, as well as other city and county commissions and non-profit organizations. Georgean recently retired from an accounting career. She was appointed as an alternate member of LAFCO in 2013.

Nate Miley

Nate Miley has served as the Alameda County District Four Supervisor since 2001. Before serving the County, he was a member of the Oakland City Council. He currently serves on nine local and regional committees, presiding as the chair or co-chair for five. Nate was appointed to LAFCO in 2001.

David Haubert

David Haubert

County Member

David Haubert was elected to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors in 2021. In 2014, David was elected Mayor of Dublin and served on the Dublin City Council since 2012 and on the Dublin Unified School District Board of Trustees for ten years prior to that. He has over 20 years of business experience, working for national companies as well as small businesses. David previously served on LAFCO, as an alternate public member, 2008-2020.

Supervisor Lena Tam

Lena Tam

County Member, Alternate

Lena Tam currently serves on the Alameda County Board of Supervisors for District 3.  She joined the Friends of the Park Foundation Board in January 2015. She served as an Alameda City Councilmember for eight years and was elected Vice-Mayor in 2006. Lena has been instrumental in funding recreation, parks, and open space in Alameda during her tenure on the Council. She collaborated with the Alameda Boys & Girls Club to provide after-school programs for the youth. She advanced the renovation of the Encinal Pool and secured $2M in dedicated funding for the 22-acre Jean Sweeney Open Space Park. Lena was also a founding board member of the City of Alameda Health Care District Board of Directors and served on the Board of Save the Bay. She was the Manager of Water Resource Planning with the East Bay Municipal Utility District.

Sblend Sblendorio

Sblend Sblendorio

Public Member

Sblend Sblendorio is a practicing attorney based in Pleasanton. With experience negotiating real estate, commercial, and finance matters, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of i-GATE Development Corporation, one of six “iHubs” in the State of California. Sblend has served on many local and regional committees and councils. He has been the public member of LAFCO since 2006.

Bob Woerner

Bob Woerner

Public Member, Alternate

Bob Woerner was appointed to the City Council in January 2012 and elected Mayor of Livermore in 2020. Prior to serving on the City Council, Bob became a member of the City Planning Commission and he spent the early part of his career as a physicist at Bell Labs and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.  Bob recently retired from PG&E as a Senior Director in Electric Operations. He also served as  a Captain in the Air Force Reserve. He was appointed to LAFCO in 2021.
